Libby Daniels, a New York film producer, hopes to revive her fading career by acquiring the movie rights to Giles St. James's popular British mysteries. She tracks down the reclusive, eccentric writer, only to discover that he loathes Americans as much as she dislikes the British. Even so, romance blossoms until Libby's assistant causes a shattering misunderstanding that sends Libby back to the states. Giles follows her to New York where they form an uneasy professional partnership that is constantly threatened by their growing mutual attraction and by Giles' outspoken opinions on American life.
WAG (Westerly Acappella Group)
WAG is an acappella quartet from Vancouver, BC. Katrina Bishop, Tim Everett, Susan Everett and Doug Austin create their music using just the human voice. Collectively, they bring 101 years of singing harmony to the stage!
Since their inception in 1987 (as the 4Tunes), WAG has performed throughout the West Coast, as far north as Atlin and as far south as San Francisco. Their venues have ranged from concert halls to coffee shops, intimate theatres to school gyms, festival stages to speeding locomotives. They have entertained as roving performers in Whistler, hosted workshops at the San Francisco Acappella Summit, and ‘danced’ on the main stage of Vancouver’s Pacific National Exhibition. Their Vancouver Fringe Festival production, “4-Ever Paisley”, was a sold out hit and ‘Pick of the Fringe’.
They released a full-length CD in 2013, titled ‘Magic Show’, which showcases cover songs such as ‘Son of a Preacher Man’, ‘Dreamer’ and ‘True Colors’, along with original compositions by Tim and Katrina such as ‘Hopped Up On Caffeine’ and ‘Fast Horses’.
Touring the East Coast for the first time, WAG is pleased to present a concert full of well-loved favourites and catchy originals in their signature blend of the energetic, the humorous, the heartfelt and the truly unexpected. Always engaging and deeply musical, WAG has something for everyone.
