This is the love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. He is a retired professor, nearing eighty, with heart palpitations and a failing memory—but still as tart-tongued, observant and eager for life as ever. Ethel, ten years younger, and the perfect foil for Norman, delights in all the small things that have enriched and continue to enrich their long life together. Time, they know, is now against them, but the years have been good and, perhaps, another summer on Golden Pond still awaits.

Peter Booth (Norman Thayer, Jr.) When Peter played Norman ten years ago, it took some doing to look and sound and think that old. He's catching up! Nothing else has changed: same name, address and contact, CPP, OAS, and the annual supply of salt-water taffy from former Acadia classisc students unhappy with their grades.

Diana Bishop (Ethel) lives in Kentville, and is pleased to once again take on a favourite role with one of her favourite stage husbands. She was last seen at CentreStage as Martha in "Arsenic and Old Lace", and in the interim was in two productions by our sister theatre company Quick As A Wink in Windsor. She hopes you enjoy your visit to Golden Pond!

Brenda Ellis (Chelsea Thayer Wayne) lives in Hantsport with her family. She is the mother of two busy teenagers. As a musician, Brenda has worked in countless pit orchestras. She has appeared in several CentreStage productions including The Last of Jane Austen and last season's highly successful production of Steel Magnolias. Brenda has also appeared in Quick as a Wink's production of The Odd Couple. She would like to thank her family and friends for the support and encouragement as she continues to pursue this 'bucket list' item.

Aidan Fisk (Billy Ray Jr.) is entering Junior High next year. He has honed his acting skills at CentreStage Theatre camps since 2008 and recently appeared as a member of Fagin's gang in Oliver! This is his first mainstage production at CentreStage. He has 2 dogs, 5 chickens, a moth in his window named Deady, and a sister named Hannah. Aidan is very happy to be working with everyone in this play and would like to especially thank director George.

Paul Abela (Bill Ray) After recently directing Dial M for Murder, Paul Abela is happy to be back on the boards: "After having suffered at the sharp end with dentists over the years, I thought it might be fun to get some revenge by playing one." Paul lives in Scot's Bay with his wife, daughter and dog, roughly in that order. He works at Acadia University where he has been known to occasionally pull a tooth or two. Enjoy the show!

Brian Smit (Charlie Martin, the mailman) has played many different roles in his previous 21 shows at CentreStage: everything from a pickle man in Crossing Delancey to an English innkeeper in Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap. You last saw him in Dial 'M' for Murder as a writer of murder mysteries and the third point in the love triangle. In his day job he is a lactation facilitator to 70 Holstein cows in the megalopolis of Grafton NS. When Brian is not involved in the many details of his farm business, he finds time to serve on CentreStage Theatre Society's Board of Directors.

Linda Levy Fisk is delighted to try her hand at the lighting board and thrilled to be able to light up the young man who lights up her life! She last appeared as Margot in Dial M For Murder and Shelby in Steel Magnolias.

Tracy Churchill is making her debut as assistant director. She has appeared in many productions at CentreStage and has decided that it's is time to see what a play looks like from the director's viewpoint.

Nancy Henry is no stranger to audiences at CentreStage Theatre. Her list of credits and memorable roles is getting longer with each passing season. She was kind enough to be voluntold as stage manager for the current production and George is delighted to have her enthusiasm, dedication, and great sense of humour.

George Henry has directed several productions at CentreStage over the past number of years. He has always been fortunate to have great casts and crews and this production is no exception. The level of talent, the enthusiasm, the dedication, and the spirit of love of this present group is truly inspiring.
