In this adaptation, we encounter a company of traveling players about to enact the Dickens story. As the on-stage trunk of supplies opens, actors and clowns spill out and roll on. The gruff stage manager and prop boy check the show's props, which are shabby and third rate, but the troupe improvises by creating a magical world of make-believe.

Candy O'Brein hails from a funny little farm in Grafton. She has been involved with CentreStage Theatre since 1992 and is thrilled to be playing Scrooge in this production of A Christmas Carol. Thanks to everyone who supports her.

This is Gabriel Skaling's debut performance at CentreStage Theatre and he is absolutely ecstatic about it. He has, however, participated in three youth camps at CentreStage and therefore knows the lay of the land. Being a 12-year-old, he does not have too much control over his life, but very much enjoys acting, writing and Lego robotics. Future performances may include Anne of Green Gables (The Stage Prophets).

You might remember James Carey from the days in Centre Square where he performed in Come Blow Your Horn and The King and I. After a long hiatus, he was inspired to come back to the stage by his daughter, the Stink Bug, Jaime-Lynn and her good friend Hannah, the Queen Ant.

Ryan Lindh lives in Wolfville, but most of the time you'll find him deep in the woods, working in outdoor recreation, splitting his seasons between ski patrol in the winter, and mountain bike trail building and guiding in the summer. This will be his fourth production with CentreStage and it's great to be back. Enjoy the show! I know I will!

Arthur Taggart lives in Kentville and currently attends NSCC Kingstec. Arthur has been an active member of the performing arts for most of his life, everything from children's choir at his church to the adult sanctuary choir. He was also a part of various drama presentations at Horton High School. In his debut role at CentreStage Arthur performed as the prince/beast in the summer production of Beauty and the Beast. Arthur hopes to continue using his performing talent to entertain the audiences at CentreStage Theatre.

Jenna Newcomb performed admirably in several plays at CentreStage. You've seen her as Queen Charlotta in The King's New Clothes, as Jo in Little Women, and as Princess Pretty in The Princess and the Pea, which was also directed by Colleen Hagen. Most recently, she starred as Mayzie La Bird in Al Whittle Theatre's Seussical The Musical. She also hopes to perform in Horton High School's upcoming production of The Wiz.

Chérie Zinck lives in Port Williams with Ernest the lighting man, and Kelly the cat.

Mike Holland's début with CentreStage Theatre was in The Mouse that Roared. He also acted in the recent Stage Prophets production of Oliver. It has been said that live theater brings out the real person. Mike agrees in part with this as he plays the role of ...Old Clown in this show. Live theater is all about people. Those energetic and talented people we work with and those who support and encourage us. Life is a dream. Live it one line at a time.

Regis Irvine has been involved in three CentreStage productions in the past. He has most memorably been seen in Any Number Can Die and most recently in The Fantasticks. He is currently in his last year of school and is looking forward to a (hopefully) bright future. Most importantly, he is looking forward to another great theatre experience in A Christmas Carol.

Jessica Bennett is back for her second show at CentreStage Theatre, after being in the recent production of Out of Sight, Out of Murder. She is appreciative to her family for encouraging her artistic interests, such as painting and drawing to now acting. This experience supports her love of people; however, on the flip side she loves nature and the outdoors, too.

Abigail Smolenaars has been involved in many productions at CentreStage youth theatre and is very excited to be appearing on the mainstage for the second time! She goes to EMS and is in the 7th grade. She loves practicing circus skills and hopes you enjoy seeing her in this production of A Christmas Carol.

Elva Kelley: It is a joy once again to work as Stage Manager behind the scenes as the Director/Assistant Director and cast work hard to bring you another show. Sit back and enjoy A Christmas Carol as it gets you ready for the festive season.

It's an honour to direct and to act in such a cherished and touching story as A Christmas Carol . When directing a show based on a well-know classic I believe it is a responsibility to strive to do the author justice, which, in the case of Dickens, is quite a feat indeed. However, given the excellent cast and crew who have been working so hard on this show, I must say that my job has been made immensely easier.
I have been involved in several CentreStage productions and theatre camps during my almost four years in the Valley. I am passionate about bringing quality live entertainment to the devoted audiences of the Valley and beyond.
In this adaptation of A Christmas Carol, Doris Baizley has managed to bring humor, drama, tragedy, and joy to the story, while staying true to the characters and motivations of the Dickens classic.
It is with so much delight and pleasure that I present to you A Christmas Carol.

Most of Brian Cottam's theatre experience has been onstage but he is always up for trying something new. Brian is for the first time attempting the assistant director's role in hopes of expanding and adding to his theatre experiences and possibly even move up to directing a play of his own. Brian hopes you enjoy this creative adaption of the classic A Christmas Carol as much as he enjoyed helping bring it to the stage.
