Who's Who
Micci

Micaela Comeau

This is Micaela's 2nd play at CentreStage, and she expects it to be just as fun as the first time, especially because she gets to see Colleen and Mindy again and meet lots of great new people! Micci's life is singing, dancing and acting, and while she's not singing, dancing or acting, she's playing the ukelele (while singing, dancing and acting!) She hopes everyone enjoys watching the show.

Melanie

Melanie Seamone

Melanie is excited to be a first time performer at CentreStage. Melanie is originally from New Germany where she performed in several plays in high school. She moved to the Valley to attend Acadia University and liked it so much she never left. When not at CentreStage you can find her at Curves gym in Kentville (which she owns), on the soccer field, or shopping at her favourite store, Canadian Tire.

Arthur

Arthur Taggart

Arthur is from Kentville. He has been an avid member of numerous drama productions at his school (Horton High School). As well, Arthur has been performing at his home church (Kentville Baptist) for several years; as a former member of the children's choir and a current member of the sanctuary choir he has preformed several musicals with both groups. Arthur truly has a passion for acting and the performing arts and hopes to do more plays with CenterStage in the future.

Geoff

Geoff Ball

Geoff Ball, a recent refugee from the chaos of Dartmouth, is now enjoying the delicious quiet and beauty of the Valley. A long-time CentreStageTheatre fan, Geoff has led two Stage Management workshops there. Although "Beauty and the Beast" is Geoff's debut treading the boards at CST, he has acted, directed, designed, stage-managed, etc. at various theatres, ranging from Nova Scotia to New Jersey. In his spare time, Geoff might be found gardening or cruising the Valley byways with Carole, his wife, in their roadster or on their Vespa!

Lianne

Lianne Thibodeau

Although this is Lianne Thibodeau's first play she has experienced musical theatre in the form of song and dance for several years. She has been taking dance lesson since the age of four and private singing lessons since she was ten. Lianne particiated in the film Call me Fitz TV series in New Minas in 2009. She has also particiated in the Halifax International Tatoo in 2008 in the youth choir and in 2010 as a dancer in the dance troupe la Baie en Joie. Lianne hopes everyone will enjoy the play as much as see does.

Katie

Katie Bray

This is Katie's third show at CentreStage Theatre and she is very excited to be back. Katie is currently studying theatre at Dalhousie University. She says that "She hopes that everyone enjoys the show!"

Bronwyn

Bronwyn Farcey

Bronwyn is 14 years old and she has always loved singing, dancing and performing! Bronwyn enjoys acting with her local theatre, Quick as a Wink and she is now thrilled to be involved with Centre Stage Theatre's, Beauty and the Beast. Bronwyn's long term goals include performing on Broadway and to pursue an active career on stage!

Jennifer

Jennifer Weisner

Jennifer is excited to be appearing in CentreStage's version of Beauty and the Beast, as it was one of her favourite children's stories and movies. She is happy to work with and learn from the cast and crew of Beauty and the Beast as this is her first appearance at CentreStage. She is a member of the Shiretown Singers and hopes to appear in future CentreStage musicals. Jennifer lives and works in Kentville.

Jana

Jana Hupman

Jana Hupman has been in many theatre productions, starting from when she was in grade 3. Her most recent ones were 'Fame', 'FezziWig', 'Charlie Brown' and 'Into The Woods'. She plays guitar, sings and is learning to play piano. She loves dancing and writing, and is glad to be a part of Beauty and the Beast.

Lorri

Lorri Dunn

Lorri has been a piano teacher in the Clare area for almost 20 years (yikes!) and as well, she teaches various junior singing groups along with a youth choir. She is past music director of several Broadway Bound Dance camps and has been teaching the singing component of several song and dance groups for Anne-Marie's School of dance for 14 years (but don't ask her dance!) She helped out in a small capacity with CentreStage's Princess and the Pea production last year, and is thrilled to be an official part of the Beauty and Beast production.

Nicole

Nicole Myra

Nicole is happy to be back at CentreStage Theatre, this time having the pleasure of working backstage with Elva Kelly. She appeared in Farndale Murder Mystery, Agatha Christie's Mousetrap, and in the upstairs theatre as "Lady Lotta Bon Bon" in Cinderella, Cinderella. When she's not stepping into another character's life, her daytime hours are spent working at Acadia and the Kings County SPCA.

Elva

Elva Kelley

Elva hails from downtown Waterville and is happy once again to be Stage Manager, this time for Beauty and the Beast. Shows that give our younger folks a chance to perform and our folks with a young heart a chance to watch are always her favorite. Elva last Stage Managed for "Whose Wives Are They Anyway?". She adds "Director Colleen Hagen has done a great job, and the cast have put forth much hard work and dedication to give you this performance, so sit back and enjoy".

Tim

Tim Hawkins

Tim Hawkins has taken a rest from acting to do the lighting for Beauty and the Beast. When not acting, and ligthing shows, Tim volunteers his expertise in CentreStage's cobbled together sound system.

Colleen

Colleen Hagen

Colleen Hagen (Director) I am excited to present to you the talented and dedicated cast of Beauty and the Beast. I am so pleased to see so many new faces to CentreStage join our acting ensemble. This is my third time working on a show by Lani Brockman and Susan Bardsley, and I consistently enjoy the music and humour that they bring to traditional fairy tales. Beauty and the Beast has always been my favourite fairy tale, and I love how the writers have drawn from the original story and then transformed it into a show for young audiences.

I have been involved with CentreStage Theatre for the past two years. Some of my onstage highlights include The Mousetrap and Sadie Flynn comes to Big Oak. However I equally enjoy working behind the scenes, especially as artistic director. I have been working backstage in community theatres for over fifteen years and am always astounded by the number of people who contribute to a show, but are never seen onstage.

I am very thankful for the invaluable assistance of Lorri as accompanist, who has also lent us her expertise as a choir director. We have such a great crew with Elva, Darrell, Tim, and Nicole keeping the show running behind the scenes. I sincerely hope you enjoy our show. . . Beauty and the Beast! Colleen Hagen
