CentreStage Theatre has five objectives:

  1. To foster and encourage community theatre in the local area;
  2. To foster and encourage artistic and practical development of its members through means such as workshops, mentoring, and involvement in productions of the highest possible quality:
  3. To foster and encourage artistic and practical development of people in the local area through performance-based workshops and other appropriate means;
  4. To foster and encourage public awareness of all facets of community theatre;
  5. To stimulate co-operation between the Society and all persons and groups active in community theatre in Nova Scotia

CentreStage History

The idea of having a quality, year-round community theatre was the dream of Allen Hume, Susan Munro, Jerry Morine, Chloris Morine, Gertrude Bishop, Arlo Moen, and Diana Bishop. From 1984 to 1998 this group, along with many, many volunteers produced and presented a total of 112 plays, all but the first six of them at the Theatre in Centre Square, Kentville.
